Parsons, SeaTech Global Awarded Positions on $1B NNSA Counter Nuclear Smuggling System Deployment Contract

The Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration has awarded Parsons (NYSE: PSN) and SeaTech Global Security Solutions positions on a potential seven-year, $1 billion contract to support the deployment of counter nuclear smuggling systems.

The vendors will perform design, construction, integration, communications, logistics, training and equipment procurement, among other tasks, to help field counter nuclear smuggling platforms, according to award notices published Wednesday.

System components include radiation detection systems, passive barriers, security systems, nonstructural modifications of existing buildings, new supporting infrastructure, communications equipment and systems, vehicles and other items that support the radiation detection mission.

In May 2023, NNSA issued a solicitation for the Counter Nuclear Smuggling System Deployment program, a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that has a three-year base term and two two-year option periods.

Parsons received three task orders and SeaTech secured one task order under the CNSSD contract, according to the award notices.
