General Atomics Unit Books $389M Army Contract for Latest Variant of Gray Eagle Drones

General Atomics business has secured a $389 million contract to deliver MQ-1C-25M Gray Eagle Modernized Extended Range systems to the U.S. Army.

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems is expected to complete work by Nov. 29, 2024, under the fixed-price incentive award, the Department of Defense said Friday.

Alabama-based Army Contracting Command conducted a virtual competitive acquisition for the contract and received one bid. It will determine work locations and funds upon issuance of each order.

In October 2022, GA-ASI unveiled the GE-25M, featuring a modular open systems approach for rapid enhancements in response to evolving threats.

The variant is capable of real-time threat detection and intelligence sharing with the Army and Joint Force through its open architecture, advanced datalinks, upgraded propulsion and onboard edge processing.
