A website developed by NASA’s Office of Procurement to attract acquisition ideas and approaches from diverse industry sources is now live.
Government and industry users of the NASA Acquisition Innovation Launchpad can provide input on how to eliminate barriers to entry in contracting programs and reduce the burden on industry, the space agency said Friday.
“The launchpad is a safe space for anyone, including, but not limited to, contractors, engineers, and program managers of any level, to field and test ideas in a collaborative and managed risk-taking environment to help us improve life for everyone on the planet,” said Pamela Melroy, deputy administrator of NASA and an inductee into Executive Mosaic’s 2023 Wash100.
The agency encourages industry partners to help identify bottlenecks that hinder the sourcing process and recommend program management tools to accelerate acquisition of products and services.
NASA will accept submissions of inquiries and ideas on a rolling basis through the new website.
“The NAIL will apply NASA’s culture of exploration and innovation to the acquisition life cycle and empower our acquisition workforce to meet objectives and challenges such as NASA’s Moon to Mars exploration approach,” said Karla Smith Jackson, deputy chief acquisition officer and assistant administrator for the agency’s procurement office.
