SAIC Holds Prime Spot on FAA’s $2.3B Systems Engineering IDIQ; Bob Genter Quoted

Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) will compete for task orders to engineer systems and perform technical work for the Federal Aviation Administration through the company’s prime position on a potential 10-year, $2.3 billion contract vehicle.

The FAA’s Systems Engineering and Technical Innovative Solutions program consists of a 36-month base period of performance and three option periods, one for three years and two for two years, the company said Wednesday.

SAIC is among the 15 vendors holding spots on the SETIS contract vehicle and will carry out work at the FAA Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and also in Washington, D.C.

Bob Genter, president of SAIC’s defense and civilian sector, said the company supports the agency’s mission “to provide the safest and most efficient airspace through continuous improvements to communications, navigation and surveillance systems.”

SAIC’s collaboration with the FAA dates back in 2010. Its services have ranged from financial, analytical, to strategic planning and technology infusion. The company has also worked on the agency’s joint research projects, such as the Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management program launched in partnership with NASA.
