A General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) subsidiary has won a potential 20-month, $168.5 million contract to maintain, modernize and repair a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock for the U.S. Navy.
General Dynamics NASSCO will conduct selected restricted availability efforts for the USS Arlington in fiscal year 2023 under the firm-fixed-price contract, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
NASSCO will be responsible for providing workers, facilities, equipment, supervision and quality assurance to carry out the project. DOD expects the contractor to finish services by September 2024.
The contract has a base value of $149.5 million and will reach its maximum value if the Navy exercises all options.
At the time of award, the Navy will obligate $136.2 million in FY 2023 other procurement funds and another $13.3 million in operation and maintenance funds.
