Richard Knop, former co-head of the government and defense group at BB&T Capital Markets, was selected as the 2007 Technology Good Scout Award recipient from the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Knop is known for cofounding Windsor Group, a middle-market mergers and acquisitions firm that BB&T acquired in January 2005. He then led the combined entity with a continued focus on the GovCon industry until 2009. In February 2010, Knop and Leslee Belluchie worked as a husband-and-wife duo in the Washington, D.C., area to establish private equity fund FedCap Partners with the goal of helping small to mid-market technology and service providers.
The BSA National Capital Area Council’s 2022 award ceremony is scheduled to take place on Nov. 2 at the Tysons Corner Marriott hotel in Virginia, with LMI President and CEO Doug Wagoner serving as this year’s Good Scout honoree.
