A partnership between Amentum and Fluor (NYSE: FLR) has won a potential $28 billion contract from the National Nuclear Security Administration to manage and operate the Y-12 National Security Complex in Tennessee and the Pantex Plant in Texas.
The 10-year contract to Nuclear Production One covers a five-year base period of performance and five one-year option periods, NNSA said Monday.
NPOne will undergo a four-month transition process starting in December before the limited liability company officially assumes the management and operation responsibility for the two nuclear security facilities.
Consolidated Nuclear Security, the incumbent Y-12 and Pantex contractor, is scheduled to conclude work at the sites by March 31, 2022.
