TCOM Secures $217M Army Aerostat FMS Contract

TCOM has secured a $217.3 million contract from the U.S. Army to provide Saudi Arabia a tethered aerostat platform intended to support military communications, force protection, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance activities

The Columbia, Maryland-based company will produce the Meter Persistent Surveillance Systems-Tethered under a contract completely funded with foreign military sales, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

Army Contracting Command received one bid for the firm-fixed-price contract via the internet.

Work will take place in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, through March 23, 2027.

The PSS-T is designed to collect information from multiple sensors and interoperate with other aerial and unattended ground radars, according to the Army.
