Smith made the announcement through a LinkedIn post published Monday.
He spent nearly two and a half years at SAIC. As VP, the cybersecurity and information technology executive served within its Solution and Technology Group and led efforts to develop and deliver cyber technologies and services.
Smith joined SAIC in December 2018 as program management director, a post he held until October of the next year.
Prior to working at SAIC, Smith was a research analyst at the Institute for Defense Analyses, where he spearheaded a research effort for the assistant secretary of defense for systems engineering.
He also served with the U.S. military as a communications group commander at the U.S. Air Force, and as deputy director of communications and deputy chief information officer at Special Operations Command.
