Ellen Lord, former undersecretary for acquisition and sustainment at the Department of Defense and a four-time Wash100 awardee, has joined security and risk management advisory firm The Chertoff Group as a senior adviser.
She will advise on defense programs, critical infrastructure protection and homeland security initiatives as part of the senior advisory team, the company said Friday.
“Ellen’s deep background in aerospace and defense, both in the government and private sectors, coupled with her business acumen will add immense value to our clients,” said Michael Chertoff, co-founder and executive chairman of The Chertoff Group.
Lord has more than three decades of industry experience that included tenure as president and CEO of Textron Systems from October 2012 to June 2017 before she joined DOD. She previously served as vice chairman of the National Defense Industrial Association, director of the U.S.-India Business Council and as a trustee on the board of the U.S. Naval Institute Foundation.
