Jacobs Lands $421M Navy Submarine Base Operations Support Contract; Steve Arnette Quoted

Jacobs (NYSE: J) will provide asset management support for U.S. Navy operations at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in Georgia under a potential eight-year, $421 million contract.

The company said Tuesday it is scheduled to commence work on June 1 and will help the service branch manage infrastructure assets supporting force protection, utilities, transportation, telecommunication and various systems at the submarine station.

Steve Arnette, senior vice president of Jacobs’ critical mission solutions business, said the company will apply agile management and technical approaches to support Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast through the Kings Bay Base Operations Support I contract.

The KB BOSI contract has one base year and seven option years.

Jacobs added it helps the service branch operate Naval Station Mayport in Florida and Naval Base Kitsap’s West Sound in Washington.

Kings Bay is home to the Navy’s Ohio-class nuclear-powered submarines.
