Virginia Beach, Virginia-based systems engineering contractor Valkyrie Enterprises has acquired Atlantic CommTech Corp., a Norfolk-based provider of security, information technology, radio frequency and communications infrastructure support to government clients.

ACT-Corp. will to operate as Valkyrie CommTech with 140 personnel who support customers at the departments of Defense, Homeland Security and State, Valkyrie said Monday.

The acquired firm has offices in South Carolina; Texas; Washington, D.C.; Ramstein, Germany; and Southwest Asia.

Valkyrie noted the acquisition expands the company's global workforce count to more than 750 employees.

A woman-owned business, ACT-Corp. holds prime positions on multiple government procurement vehicles such as the General Service Administration's One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services contract and provides subcontractor support to larger contractors.
