Chris Bishop Chief Growth Officer Alion

Alion Science and Technology has appointed Chris Bishop as chief growth officer to supervise strategic initiatives and business development functions across the company, Alion reported on Tuesday.

“Chris brings 25 years of strong business development experience from some of the leading defense companies in industry. His significant experience in C5ISR, cross-domain, and cyber capabilities – all key franchise areas for Alion – will contribute greatly to our continued market growth,” said Steve Schorer, chairman and CEO of Alion.

Bishop has deep expertise across thought leadership and capture strategy development; strategic planning and competitive analysis; cost estimating and analysis; strategic pricing; incentive and performance-based contracting, among others.

“Chris’ expansive experience managing business development organizations, his year-over-year revenue growth, and record book-to-bill ratios are impressive. He is a forward thinker and his strategies for driving business success will be significant as Alion continues its momentum achieving new contract wins and maintaining its commitment to excellence,” added Schorer.

Prior to joining Alion, Bishop served as chief growth and strategy officer with Pyramid Systems. In the role, he was responsible for developing and implementing Pyramid's organic and inorganic growth strategy by aligning business methods, capabilities, and enabling technologies to federal budgets and Pyramid's pipeline.

Before Pyramid Systems, Bishop served as senior vice president of Growth for ManTech’s Mission Solutions and Services (MSS) Group. With ManTech, he supervised all sales efforts for MSS and played a major role in the coordination of sales efforts with ManTech’s other operating groups, customers and partners.

As vice president of Business Development for URS Corp., prior to joining ManTech, Bishop led business development, capture management, GWAC/IDIQ management, marketing and communications, and proposal development for the Division.

“It is a privilege to be joining Alion. I am impressed with the market strength and business success I have seen from Alion over the past few years,” said Bishop. “The company has transformed into an industry force in the defense and intelligence marketplace, and I look forward to being part of this exceptional leadership team and Alion’s continued growth.”
