Rubrik announced on Wednesday that Tom Kennedy has been appointed the vice president of Federal for the company and will lead growth and expansion. Kennedy will be responsible for all aspects of Rubrikâs federal business, including strategic development and execution. He will be reporting directly to Brett Shirk, Rubrikâs chief revenue officer.Â
âAs federal agencies increase their reliance on hybrid cloud models, their ability to manage data securely in that environment is critical,â Shirk said. âThe federal sector trusts our cloud data management solutions to help them today.Â
We expect demand to grow as more workloads and applications migrate to the cloud. Tomâs vision and expertise will enable us to bring the benefits of our solutions to a wider federal audience moving forward.â
Kennedy brings 25 years of experience in the federal market to the role. Most recently, he served as the vice president and general manager of Veritasâ public sector and was responsible for the companyâs federal, state and local, education, and healthcare divisions. In addition, Kennedy has led the Emerging Solutions Specialist sales team for Symantec and focused on the federal, state and local, education and healthcare verticals.
âLegacy data protection systems hamper federal agenciesâ ability to execute digital transformation initiatives, said Tom Kennedy. âThatâs a problem because these projects are key to improving government services and unlocking significant cost savings for taxpayers,â he added.Â
âRubrikâs cloud data management platform is a game-changer. It eases the transition to a hybrid cloud model, mitigates cyber-based risk and promotes IT consolidation and modernization. Iâm excited to join a company that is shaping the future of IT and accelerate our growth in the federal market,â Kennedy stated.Â
