Consulting firm McAleese & Associates has released a report on key takeaways from the speech of Ellen Lord, defense undersecretary for acquisition and sustainment, at an Atlantic Council event held Monday.
Lord, a 2019 Wash100 recipient, called on the U.S. government to come up with a whole-of-government strategy to deploy a 5G network backed by industry and the investment community amid the increasing national security threat posed by the Chinese 5G network infrastructure.

We need to be secure ¦ and have a self-healing network, she said. In 5G, there will be huge amounts of data moving ¦ We have to use communications networks ¦ We need to make sure that others are not listening in.
