Lockheed Secures $522M in Trident II Missile Production, Support Contract Options

Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) space systems business has landed contract options worth $522.3 million from the U.S. Navy to produce Trident II D2 missiles and support deployed systems.

The Navy will obligate the modification’s full value at the time of award from its fiscal year 2018 “other” procurement; weapons procurement; and research, development, test and evaluation funds, the Defense Department said Monday.

DoD added that the service branch could incrementally provide an additional $7.7 million, subject to availability of funds for the current fiscal year.

The company will perform work at various locations across the country through Sept. 30, 2022.

Trident II is currently aboard U.S. Ohio-class and U.K. Vanguard-class ballistic missile submarines.
