Lockheed, NASA Check InSight Lander’s Solar Arrays Ahead of Mars Mission


TYSONS CORNER, VA, Jan. 29, 2018 — Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has collaborated with NASA to conduct an assessment on the solar arrays of a robotic spacecraft as part of preparations for its future mission to Mars, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The Jet Propulsion Laboratory-led Mars Exploration Program at NASA reported Tuesday that the evaluation of the InSight lander at a Lockheed facility in Colorado focused on the deployment of the solar arrays while InSight was in landed configuration as well as the capacity of the solar cells to collect power.
