MTSI to Provide Engineering Support for MDA Ballistic Missile Defense System Under $89M Contract

Modern Technology Solutions Inc. has won a one-year, $88.7 million contract from the Missile Defense Agency to provide specialty engineering advisory and assistance services for the Ballistic Missile Defense System.

The Defense Department said Thursday MTSI will help MDA engineer sensor, directed energy and space systems as well as support BMDS training, operations engineering and concurrent testing activities as part of efforts to help protect allies, regional interests and deployed forces.

MDA received four proposals for the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract via a competitive procurement on FedBizOpps and obligated $2.5 million in fiscal 2017 and 2018 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award.

MTSI will perform work in Alabama, Colorado, Massachusetts and Virginia through October 2019.
