Raytheon to Update Missile Defense Radar With GaN Under MDA Deal


TYSONS CORNER, VA, April 10, 2017 — Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) will continue work to help develop ballistic missile defense radar components with the gallium nitride semiconductor material under a $10 million contract modification from the Missile Defense Agency, ExecutiveBiz reported Friday.

The company said Thursday it will provide the hardware and software that will work to integrate GaN into the AN/TPY-2 radar in order to boost its range, threat identification, reliability and search functions.
