Frank Backes Frank Backes, former CEO of Braxton Technologies , has been named vice president of business development for satellite communications products and federal satellite solutions at Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (Nasdaq: KTOS).
Kratos said Thursday Backes will focus on products and service offerings for the defense, intelligence and civilian government sectors in his new position.
“Frank is well known in our industry as a creative thinker who helps customers solve their most difficult challenges,” said John Monahan, senior VP of Kratos’ satcom products and federal satellite solutions business.
Monahan added Backes’ technology experience covers software-as-a-service architecture, cybersecurity and software engineering.
Backes previously served as chief technology officer and chief financial officer at hardware and software integrator 3Si Holdings .
He has served on the board of directors of Modern Technology Solutions Inc. since August 2016 and also held senior roles at Digital Equipment Corp. and Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC).
