Forcepoint, Ponemon Institute Survey Points to Insider Threat Growth


cybersecurityTYSONS CORNER, VA, Aug. 26, 2016 — A study by the Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) and Vista Equity Partners joint venture and the Ponemon Institute found 91 percent of information technology operations and security managers in the commercial and federal sector believe incidents involving insider threats will either remain stable or grow, ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

The Forcepoint JV said Tuesday 40 percent attribute the threat to social engineering while 70 percent indicate that privileged users may also abuse their access rights.
