Gary Perlin, former Capital One Financial chief financial officer, has been elected as the non-executive chairman of the board of directors at Abt Associates.
Abt said Friday Perlin, who joined the company’s board in 2012, will bring more than 30 years of finance experience in for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
“We look forward to his leadership as we continue to strengthen Abt’s market position and advance our mission to improve the quality of life and economic well-being of people around the world, ” said Kathleen Flanagan, Abt president and CEO.
Perlin has also served in various senior financial roles for the World Bank,  Federal National Mortgage Association and the United Way of the National Capital Area.
He also holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, a master’s degree in economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a master’s degree in public administration with specialization in economics and public policy from Princeton University.
