Lockheed-Run Sandia Lab to Oversee DOE SunShot Initiative Regional Test Centers

solar-powerTYSONS CORNER, VA, May 6, 2016 — Sandia National Laboratories will continue to manage Energy Department regional test centers for the SunShot Initiative through another three years under a contract renewal awarded to Sandia Corp., ExecutiveBiz reported Thursday.

The RTCs work to evaluate the performance, economic viability and reliability of solar photovoltaic technologies in support of efforts to drive down solar power costs by 2020, Sandia said Tuesday.

Sandia Corp., a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), runs the national lab for DOE.
