U.S. Northern Command has awarded Engility (NYSE: EGL) a three-year, $49 million contract to perform lifecycle support work on the command’s technical communications infrastructure.

Engility said Tuesday it will provide system design, development, engineering, modification, repair and training services for the Deployable Communications Capabilities System under the sole-source contract.

“This win continues a valued relationship with USNorthcom and… we are excited to serve this combatant command level of effort, ” said Tony Smeraglinolo, Engility president and CEO.

The DCCS is based on soldier-carried vehicular technology and intended to manage protected and non-secure voice, data and video communications among military users.
