Matt Cole, executive vice president and deputy for strategy and business development at Cubic‘s (NYSE: CUB) transportation systems segment, will transition into the role of president at the segment in a move that takes effect in October.
The company said Monday Cole will also hold the title of corporate senior VP and Stephen Shewmaker, corporate EVP and outgoing transportation systems president,  will chair the business unit until his planned retirement in 2016.
“Matt is a thought leader in the transportation industry and has been instrumental in growing CTS on three continents as well as entering into adjacent transportation markets, ” said Bradley Feldmann, president and CEO of Cubic.
“We are grateful for [Shewmaker’s] stewardship of CTS and appreciate his guidance and leadership during this transition, which will ensure continuity with ongoing projects, ” he added.
Both Cole and Shewmaker will report to Feldmann in their new roles.
