Lockheed Unveils Air Traffic Control System for UAS Pilots


lockheed martinTYSONS CORNER, VA August 6, 2015 — ExecutiveBiz reported Tuesday on Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) rolling out a traffic management tool that would allow unmanned aircraft systems controllers to share flight information with other UAS pilots.

The UAS traffic manager feeds UAS flight plans to the Federal Aviation Administration’s National Airspace System, Lockheed said Monday.

“Our objective is an open, standards-based system that individual operators and other private UTM systems can use to interact seamlessly and securely with the NAS, ” said Paul Engola, vice president of Lockheed Martin’s transportation and financial solutions business.
