Paul Engola: Lockheed to Refresh Air Traffic Control System in South Korea


lockheed martinLockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has been awarded a contract to update infrastructure used to manage air traffic services at an Incheon, South Korea-based area control center.

The company will work with South Korean IT services provider LG CNS to help the Incheon facility implement a new version of Lockheed’s SkyLine air traffic management system, Lockheed said Thursday.

“Upgrading SkyLine in Korea offers a new model for technology transfer to our international partners and continues the system’s expansion in the Asia-Pacific region, ” said Paul Engola, vice president of transportation solutions at Lockheed’s information systems and global solutions business.

Lockheed will train Korean air traffic management system engineers at a company facility in Rockville, Md.

The company and LG CNS’ team will also build a facility in Seoul to offer technology development and software customization services.
