Navy, MDA Conduct Flight Tests on Raytheon SM-3 Block IIA


SM-3-Block-IIATYSONS CORNER, VA June 9, 2015 — The U.S. Navy has performed the first flight tests on the Raytheon-built (NYSE: RTN) Standard Missile-3 Block IIA at Point Mugu Sea Range on San Nicolas Island, California, ExecutiveBiz reported Monday.

The Missile Defense Agency said Saturday that it staged the live-fire evaluation of the 21-inch SM-3 variant under the U.S.-Japan Cooperative Development Project, in collaboration with the Technical Research and Development Institute.
