The Buffalo, New York-based company will provide a multispectral battlespace environment in support of the military branch’s sensor and fused system performance test efforts, the Defense Department said Tuesday.
Avarint will concentrate on sensors and avionics architectures that fuse information from different sources such as the F-22 Raptor and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter jets.
DoD says the project’s goal is to acquire âincreased threat simulator fidelity and threat signal density, â according to an Air Force notice of contract award.
Avarint will perform work in Buffalo and at Edwards Air Force Base in California through March 26, 2020 under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
The Pentagon says it will work to upgrade ground and open-air test systemsâ sensors and avionics architectures as survivability technologies continue to advance.
