
Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has agreed to purchase Zeta Associates, a data-exchange technology provider to the defense and intelligence sectors, for an undisclosed amount.
“Zeta Associates’ expertise in cross-platform information collection, analysis and dissemination is an ideal complement to our national security capabilities, ” Marillyn Hewson, Lockheed president and CEO, said Monday.
Hewson added that Lockheed seeks to expand its ability to provide intelligence systems and services for customers’ ground, aerial and space missions through the acquisition.
Zeta Associates employs 350 staff members at its headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia and other facilities across the country.
The company will report through Lockheed’s space systems segment after the transaction is completed in the third quarter of 2014, according to Lockheed.
