Gary Newgaard, who previously served as federal sales director for EMC‘s Isilon division, has been appointed vice president of U.S. federal sales at Reston, Va.-based data technology provider Pixia Corp.
The two-decade sales veteran led the division to double federal sales during his first year as director, Pixia said Tuesday.
Rudi Ernst, Pixia CEO, said Newgaard will work to drive corporate revenue and growth in the federal market.
He held senior-level positions at Compaq Computer Corp. and then became president of Paragon Systems LLC before joining EMC Isilon.
Pixia works to develop scalable data access products for volume-related applications such as wide area motion imagery, full motion video and geospatial intelligence.
The company aims for its technology to help users access large datasets from any location within a cloud computing platform, Pixia says.
