General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) has promoted 32-year company veteran Sandra Wheeler to vice president of tactical networks in the C4 systems business unit, effective Jan. 1, the company announced Thursday.

Wheeler will lead teams developing and fielding the U.S. Army‘s Warfighter Information Network-Tactical program, a network for commanders and soldiers to transmit voice, video and data.

The C4 systems unit is fielding a limited deployment of WIN-T Increment 2 under a $346 million delivery order.

She brings previous experience in managing large programs and understanding of customer missions, said Chris Marzilli, president of the C4 systems unit.

Wheeler currently leads business development and strategic marketing for the company’s secure communications and computing technologies organization, which produces AN/PRC-154 Rifleman and AN/PRC-155 Manpack radios for the Army.

She has also held positions in the engineering, program management, business development and sales areas.
