Navistar Wins $357M Marine Corps Delivery Order for Armored Vehicles

The U.S. Marine Corps has awarded Navistar Defense, LLC a $357 million devliery order for 471 International MaxxPro Dash vehicles with DXM independent suspension.

“We have nine major MaxxPro variants in or on their way to theater today thanks to the flexibility of our proven vehicle platforms, ” said Archie Massicotte, president, Navistar Defense. “The MaxxPro Dash was the first MRAP to be modified specifically for the Afghan terrain and we have continued to enhance its capabilities all along the way. Keeping our warfighters equipped is priority one.”

Navistar won a delivery order from the U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command last month  for 250 MaxxPro Dash Mine Resistant Ambush Protected ambulances.

Production will occur in  Garland, Texas, and West Point, Miss. and deliveries will be completed by September 2011.

Navy Awards $385M in Contracts to Rolls-Royce, GE for KC-130J Aircraft System Engineering, Logistics Services

The U.S. Navy has awarded approximately $385.3 million in two indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts for engineering and logistics services in support of KC-130J aerial refueling aircraft systems. Rolls-Royce will sustain and support the tanker’s propulsion system under a $228.1 million firm-fixed-price contract while General Electric‘s aerospace business (NYSE: GE) will work on the KC-130J R391 propeller platform
