A report by George Mason University’s Center for Government Contracting says federal agencies have been using rapid contracting procedures to speed up contract awards in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Agencies are using Federal Supply Schedules as one of the contract flexibilities under the Federal Acquisition Regulation. Government-wide contracts accounted for $527M of COVID-19-related contract obligations, while indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts represented $787M.

Six Firms Awarded Navy Integrated Logistics Support Contracts

The U.S. Navy has awarded six companies contracts to provide integrated logistics services in support of the planning, management and implementation of mechanical, hull and electrical and construction systems and related initiatives. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division received eight bids and expects work to occur in several locations across the U.S., Japan and Italy through April 2026, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

The accreditation body for the Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification program has issued a request for proposals for a continuous monitoring platform. The RFP posted Wednesday on LinkedIn says that certified third-party assessment organizations, assessors and companies seeking certification will use the continuous monitoring tool to carry out pre-evaluation background research and monitor firms between formal assessments.
