Thomas Moore, a 39-year U.S. Navy veteran and former head of Naval Sea Systems Command, has joined Huntington Ingalls Industries' (NYSE: HII) nuclear and environmental services business as vice president of nuclear operations. The retired Navy vice admiral will oversee nuclear programs for the Department of Energy portfolio within HII's technical solutions division, led by Andy Green, the company said Wednesday.

Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE: HII) has finalized its acquisition of Pocasset, Mass.-based marine robotics provider Hydroid from Kongsberg Maritime for approximately $350M as part of efforts to expand its capabilities in the autonomous and unmanned maritime systems market. HII said Thursday it will operate Hydroid as part of unmanned systems business unit within its technical solutions division, which now includes capabilities in small and medium unmanned underwater vehicles with the addition of Hydroid’s Remus and Seaglider autonomous underwater vehicles.

Titan to Buy HII’s San Diego Shipyard; Andy Green Quoted

Titan Acquisition Holdings has agreed to acquire Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (NYSE: HII) San Diego shipyard for an undisclosed sum in a move to expand its ship repair capabilities to better meet the needs of the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army and other defense customers. The transaction will give HII a minority stake in Titan and is expected to close in the second quarter of 2020, subject to customary closing conditions.
