The State Department has cleared Norway’s request to procure MH-60R multimission helicopters and C-130J transport aircraft sustainment services under a pair of foreign military sale deals worth approximately $1.16 billion combined.
Norway asked to buy six anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare helicopters equipped with tactical data link radio systems, navigation and positioning capabilities and airborne low-frequency sonars for $1 billion, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Wednesday.
Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) rotary and mission systems subsidiary will be the principal contractor on the deal, which requires the deployment of U.S. government and contractor representatives to the foreign country to provide inventory control and equipment familiarization services.
The company will also provide sustainment and associated services for four Norwegian C-130Js beyond Block 6 through 2028 under a potential $166 million FMS deal.
