State Dept OKs $2.4B Sale of Boeing KC-46A Tankers, Raytheon GPS Receivers to Israel

Israel has asked to buy $2.4B in Boeing-built (NYSE: BA) aerial refueling aircraft, Raytheon-made (NYSE: RTN) navigation technology and other associated equipment from the U.S. government under a potential $2.4B foreign military sales deal approved by the State Department.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Tuesday the FMS agreement covers the procurement of eight KC-46 tankers and up to 18 MAGR 2K global positioning system receivers.

Other items that are part of Israel's request are AN/ARC-210 radios, APX-119 identification friend or foe transponders and spares, while services include repair, maintenance, training, technical, logistics, installation and testing support.

U.S. allies have reported facing a significant shortfall in strategic airlift and aerial refueling platforms, according to DSCA. The agency noted the sale will support U.S. national security and foreign policy interests.
