The State Department has approved Tunisia’s request to buy four Textron-built (NYSE: TXT) light attack aircraft, related equipment and services under a potential $325.8M foreign military sales agreement.
Tunisia asked to procure AT-6C Wolverine planes under the proposed FMS transaction that also covers logistics, technical documentation, training and program support, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Wednesday.
DSCA noted the deal will include more than 5K equipment items such as PT6A-68D 1600 SHP engine spares from United Technologies Corp.‘s (NYSE: UTX) Pratt & Whitney subsidiary and MX 15D Multi-Spectral Targeting Systems from L3Harris Technologies‘ (NYSE: LHX) Wescam business.
The agency added that implementing the proposed sale will require the deployment of two U.S. contractor logistics personnel to the South African country.
Tunisia plans to use the light attack aircraft in counterterrorism and anti-violent extremism efforts.
