MITRE has elected national security and cybersecurity professional Samantha Ravich to its board of trustees, the company said Tuesday.

Who Is Samantha Ravich?

Ravich is a technology and intelligence leader with more than 30 years of experience in government, industry and nonprofit organizations. Her work has focused on defense technology, supply chain security and risk management. She is an entrepreneur in the data and technology sector.

What Role Will Ravich Serve at MITRE?

MITRE President and CEO Mark Peters, a two-time Wash100 Award winner, said Ravich will provide insight into national security, cybersecurity and the private sector as the organization navigates rapid technological and geopolitical changes.

“Her experience will help MITRE strengthen its role as a trusted, objective partner to government, bringing cross-sector insight and technical depth to help our sponsors anticipate emerging challenges and deliver solutions with lasting national impact,” Peters added.

What Experience Does Ravich Bring to MITRE?

Ravich serves as vice chair of the strategic advisory committee for national and homeland security at Idaho National Laboratory and sits on the board of Brightstar Lottery, advising on cybersecurity and supply chain risk. She previously chaired the Center for Cyber and Technology Innovation and founded analytics firm A2P.

She has also served on the boards of the Gemological Institute of America, the Department of Energy and DroneShield, and was vice chair of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board. She was one of 10 commissioners of the Cyberspace Solarium Commission, which helped shape U.S. cybersecurity policy.

Ravich began her government career under Vice President Dick Cheney and later became his principal deputy national security adviser. She also co-chaired the bipartisan commission reviewing intelligence community R&D programs.
