Kevin Paschuck, chief operating officer and senior vice president of public sector and aerospace and defense business unit at Salesforce (NYSE: CRM), has said agencies should deploy cloud technology platforms to facilitate interactions with citizens and advance delivery of services.
Paschuck wrote cloud platforms work to help agencies direct resources toward efforts that seek to increase functionality by œoffloading IT maintenance and operations to the cloud.
Government officials can also generate insights and speed up the decision-making process through the implementation of cloud-based reporting systems.
Paschuck said agencies should also look for cloud service providers with offerings that completed the security assessment framework under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program.
Agencies that consider moving to the cloud should evaluate the total cost of ownership for its IT requirements, determine each application™s mission-critical requirements and identify employees with cloud-related skill sets, he added.
