What Does the P-8A Contract Cover?
The sole-source award covers engineering analysis and upgrades to software and associated hardware components of P-8A systems, the Department of War said Friday. The work supports Navy efforts to address obsolescence and improve capabilities.
Work will be performed in Seattle, Washington; St. Louis, Missouri; and Huntington Beach, California. The contract runs through December 2030. No funds were obligated at the time of award; funding will be issued through individual task orders.
How Does the Contract Win Fit Into Boeing’s Broader P-8A Work?
The sustainment contract builds on Boeing’s recent production and modernization awards tied to the Poseidon platform.
Besides anti-submarine warfare, the P-8A Poseidon is designed to conduct anti-surface warfare; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; and search and rescue missions.
