RTX (NYSE: RTX) will provide updated seeker, navigation and GPS receiver technologies to the U.S. Navy for integration into Tomahawk missile systems under two contract modifications and a task order worth $165.4 million combined.
The Navy allocated $124.3 million to buy 42 Maritime Strike Tomahawk Seeker suites for low-rate production three of the sensor technology intended for recertified missiles, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
Under a $24.9 million order, the Raytheon business will modernize the digital scene matching area correlator that functions as terminal guidance for the cruise missile to attack targets.
The company received a separate $16.3 million modification to continue developing military-code capable GPS receivers to support the Tomahawk all-up-round recertification program.
Tomahawk is designed to reach a target from 1,000 miles away when deployed from ships or submarines.
