Peraton will continue to provide telemetry, tracking and command services to NASAs Space Communications Network Services program under a one-year, $243M contract extension.
The company said Thursday it will help the Goddard Space Flight Center plan and engineer the mission integration process for near-Earth and space communications connectivity.
SCNS serves as the center’s largest services program.
We are honored to continue supporting NASA on missions that advance scientific discovery via human space exploration to better understand our planet, solar system and what lies beyond, said Roger Mason, president of space, intelligence and cyber sector at Peraton.
Peraton, through its predecessor companies, has supported the SCNS program since 2011 through the provision of communications and data relay services for space programs that include the Hubble Space Telescope, Earth Observing System satellites and the Orion Exploration Flight Test-1 mission.
The company offers technologies designed to manage data exchange between ground operators and distant spacecraft.
