Peraton Lands Potential $360M Contract to Analyze Air Force ICBM Software Safety

Peraton will help the U.S. Air Force analyze and address the safety risks of the branch’s intercontinental ballistic missile software under a potential 18-year, $360.4 million contract.

The company will perform ICBM risk management support work as part of the Nuclear Safety Cross-Check Analysis and Nuclear Safety Analysis and Technical Evaluation programs, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

The AF Nuclear Weapons Center will obligate $2.1 million in fiscal year 2021 operation and maintenance funds and $5.4 million in FY 2021 missile procurement funds for the two initial task orders under the sole-source indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.

Contract work will take place in El Segundo, California, and Layton, Utah, through March 2039.

Under a separate $44 million award, Peraton will develop hardware and software for the U.S. Army’s Hypersonic Test Engineering, Mission Planning and Systems program.
