Northrop Grumman (NYSE: NOC) has received a $329.9 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy to supply Australia with electronic warfare technology for mitigating the risk from explosive materials that can be detonated by radio signals.
The company will provide mounted and dismounted systems for Increment One Block One of the Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device, spares, auxiliary kits and engineering services, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
JCREW is comprised of antennas, receivers and transmitters that jointly deliver radio frequency mapping, signal assessment and geo-location. The technology also consolidates situational awareness data and accommodates compatibility with other electromagnetic systems such as Blue Force communications.
The contract modification exercised options for JCREW I1B1. Work under the contract will take place in San Diego, through December 2022.
An initial obligation of $116.5 million in foreign military sales funds from Australia was made at the time of the award. Naval Sea Systems Command manages the contract.
