Mercury Systems (Nasdaq: MRCY) has purchased Duluth, Georgia-based Richland Technologies for an undisclosed sum in a move to grow processing subsystems offerings for aerospace and defense clients.
Mercury said Wednesday it plans to keep RTL™s presence in Duluth and that the transaction complements its purchase of Switzerland-based military and aerospace computing firm Creative Electronic Systems in November 2016.
RTL produces embedded graphics software for military aerospace and commercial applications and provides systems, hardware development and safety certification services.
Mark Aslett, president and CEO of Mercury, said the company aims to grow its mission computing portfolio and U.S. footprint in the avionics market through the combination of RTL with CES, which now operates as Mercury Mission Systems International.
Aslett added that Mercury expects to expand into markets such as command, control, communications, computers and intelligence, defense platform management and mission computing by offering systems engineering and hardware development services.
