KBR (NYSE: KBR) has won a potential eight-year, $514.9 million contract to help the U.S. Navy operate a military base on the island of Diego Garcia in the British Indian Ocean Territory.
The Defense Departmentsaid Tuesday that KBR will provide general management and administration, command and staff, environmental, public safety, air and port operations, supply, galley, bachelor quarters, facilities, base support vehicles and equipment and morale, welfare and recreation support services at the Navy Support Facility-Diego Garcia.
The Navy received two proposals for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract via its e-commerce website.
DoD noted the contract includes seven option years and an additional six-month extension option.
