Empower AI has received the potential two-year, $145.6 million Digital Innovation for General Services Administration Infrastructure Technologies Next Generation, or DIGIT XGen, task order from GSA for enterprise IT support services.

As federal civilian agencies pursue enterprise IT modernization similar to the priorities driving the DIGIT XGen program, government and industry leaders will gather at the 2026 FedCiv Summit on Oct. 29 to discuss the future of federal civilian technology. The Empower AI-backed event will feature discussions on powering and scaling AI across government, data and cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and workforce enablement. Register now to gain firsthand insights from leaders shaping federal civilian modernization priorities.
The company said Tuesday the task order, which kicked off on July 1, was awarded under GSA’s Alliant 2 governmentwide acquisition contract.
What Is GSA Alliant 2?
Alliant 2 is a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract offering artificial intelligence, robotic process automation, distributed ledger technology and other emerging technologies to federal agencies. In 2022, GSA increased the GWAC ceiling to $75 billion to expand federal agency customers’ access to IT products and services. Alliant 2 currently has a ceiling value of $90.75 billion.
What Is the Scope of the GSA Task Order?
Under DIGIT XGen, Empower AI will provide enterprise IT support to users across more than 800 government sites nationwide, along with select locations overseas. The work covers service desk operations, device management, ServiceNow engineering, security operations and solutions engineering.
The next-generation program calls for automation to be built into the IT service lifecycle, including infrastructure monitoring, incident resolution and self-service tools powered by AI. Empower AI will use its Accelerator Framework and existing IT service management capabilities to carry out this work. The task order builds on the company’s history under the original DIGIT program, which has supported 18,000 users.
In 2021, Empower AI, then NCI Information Systems, secured a $807 million GSA task order under the DIGIT program to support digital transformation efforts.
What Did Empower AI Officials Say About the Award?
“This award reflects the trust GSA has placed in our team and the results we’ve delivered throughout the partnership,” said Jeffrey Bohling, president and CEO of Empower AI and a two-time Wash100 awardee. “As the federal IT environment continues to evolve, DIGIT XGen allows us to build on that foundation by bringing more AI-enabled automation, modernization and measurable outcomes to GSA’s workforce and the agencies they serve.”
Katie Sutton, vice president of operations at Empower AI, said the company has the experience needed to support a large, distributed federal IT environment. She said DIGIT XGen directs Empower AI to pursue further gains in user experience and efficiency through automation.
What Is Empower AI?

The DIGIT XGen award came just a week after Empower AI acquired Highlight Technologies to expand its portfolio of AI-driven, cloud-enabled mission systems supporting government customers. It also builds on other recent contract wins, including a $255.4 million recompete contract from the Defense Information Systems Agency for enterprise IT support services and a $60 million Army task order for the West Point Lincoln Hall modernization.
