The new Peraton CTO is a strategic executive with extensive experience designing and implementing advanced capabilities to address evolving challenges across organizations. Palmer’s vast knowledge in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, cybersecurity and engineering enables her to identify strategic trends, close technical gaps, build cross-functional teams, and integrate emerging technology into highly critical mission spaces.
Palmer joins Peraton after over a year at the Department of Homeland Security as chief enterprise architect and AI engineer. Before that, she was the CTO of the U.S. Naval Observatory, or USNO. The executive served as a data scientist for FTI Defense and Booz Allen Hamilton. She held the same role during her tenure with the Department of Defense from 2016 to 2018.
Earlier in her career, Palmer worked as a researcher for the Computational Materials Science and Design Group, a legal clerk at Reger Rizzo & Darnall and an electrical engineer at the Applied Research Laboratory, Navigation Research and Development Center at Penn State.
