Network connectivity company goTenna will provide U.S. Customs and Border Protection with a suite of communication technologies for operational safety and situational awareness under a four-year, $99 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
The Small Business Innovative Research Phase III award covers networking capabilities anticipated to support the Border Patrol Seamless Integrated Communications Program, Agent Visualization Program and Team Awareness Kit Program, goTenna said Thursday.
Contract deliverables include radios and fixed relays, partner accessories, software, training and other support services. The initial task order is worth $5.5 million.
“We recognize the need for off-grid capabilities to drive safer interactions for CBP personnel and those they interact with during daily operations,” said goTenna CEO Ari Schuler. “We are committed to providing the underlying technology to enhance the safety and protect the lives of these agents.”
The IDIQ builds on goTenna’s 2022 contract with CBP for low-bandwidth mesh network radios and its recent demonstrations of maritime mobile mesh networking.
